Schools managed by Katayanagi Institute, namely, Nihon Kogakuin College, Nihon Kogakuin College of Hachioji ,Nihon Kogakuin College of Hokkaido and Tokyo University of Technology (hereafter called “this school”) might acquire users' individual information, while the users apply to our information services. We recognize that these information acquired online are equally important as those received directly from the customer on telephone and by document, etc. Therefore we will handle and keep them with scrupulous care based on the content described as follows.
※Individual information" shall mean as follows. Individual information is defined as information on a specific individual that contains information that specifies the individual concerned. And information that specifies the individual concerned includes information, which cannot specify the individual alone, but can be specified by combining with other information on the individual concerned.
1. Protection and management of individual information.
Customer's individual information is managed appropriately, and maximum attention is paid to prevent the outflow of the information. Measures for safety at an appropriate, reasonable level are executed to the dangers of unlawful computer access from outside and to the dangers of loss, destruction, and alteration etc of the information. In case when the handling of individual information is consigned to a third party for a better service, appropriate management will be provided. Consignee will be restricted to those found to handle individual information properly. Confidentiality shall be kept, re-consignment and leaking shall be restricted by the consignee.
2. Cases when we ask for your individual information and its handling principle.
In our school website, we will ask for your individual information in the following cases.
- Application for " school guide "
- Reservation for participation to school events.
- Various online consultations and answer to On-line questionnaire.
- Application for various presents.
- Application for job offer by this school.
- Others (When customer's individual information becomes necessary in cases other than the above-mentioned cases, we will guide on the purpose and the content clearly, and we will limit the information to minimum requirement.).
These information shall be used only in the following cases. In case where it is necessary to accomplish our service through our school website, to disseminate information on school events and the latest information, to make necessary contacts to customers. Moreover, there are cases when we collect data of customer's use of our website, in order to improve our service on the web site.
3. Reference, change, and deletion of individual information.
We will correspond promptly on reference, change, and deletion of acquired information that specifies the individual, upon request from the customer through the following window. Moreover, members of ' Nihon Kogakuin College CLUB' can refer and change the data by accessing to "Registration content alteration and secession" page in the club members’ page.

4. Presentation and disclosure of individual information.
We shall not present nor disclose any information acquired online which specifies the individual offered, to a third party except in the following cases.
- When the handling of individual information is consigned to a third party. And agreement has been made not to use the individual information besides the service consigned.
- When the customer has given consent.
- When it is requested by the law etc.
5. Protection of data.
In our school website, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) cryptographic technology is used in various individual information input pages, as measures for safety on collecting customer's individual information. SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol (communications protocol) to encrypt information and to send and receive information on the Internet. It is a security function which aims to defend the critical personal information exchanged on the Internet from tapping, alteration and disguise by a third party.
6. Use of Cookie.
In our school website, information called "Cookie" is transmitted to customers' computers when the following services are provided.
※ "Cookie " is a browsing history file made by the instruction from the web server, and it preserves access information (information on the visitor, the last visited date and frequency of visit, etc.) in visitors’ personal computers. And, these information are sent to the web server on the next access, so that the server side can specify the person accessing and enable to present the same service again.

Customers can refuse to accept Cookie by changing the setting of their browser and display warning at time of receipt.
